Course description
The Management Engineer is an Engineer of Change and Innovation able to combine and integrate management skills of product and process technologies, industrial plants with management skills of company organizational structures and processes, in the context of global competition. Added to these skills is a mindset and a set of new skills that allow him to go beyond the traditional "managerial" or "managerial" logic of the planning-organization-control cycle to embrace tools and strategies for continuous innovation of the company together with the creation of new businesses. The management engineer, therefore, becomes a multifaceted figure with a leading role in the processes of digital innovation and market valorization of technologies and development of new business models. In this sense, the management engineer stands out for skills and ability in systemic analysis, management and continuous innovation of the company and industrial systems through an integrated vision of strategies, processes, systems and technologies for the creation of economic, social and environmental value.
The professional profile of the Management Engineer graduating from the Degree Course is characterized by transversal skills and competences related to sustainable business management and entrepreneurship, with vertical skills and competences on specific technological domains of reference. In particular, the former concern business management strategies, business models, management of industrial plants together with production technologies, supply chains, data management to support decision-making processes, innovation management and the creation of innovative entrepreneurship. As regards the reference technological domains, they concern digital technologies, production technologies and energy management systems.
The educational offer of the Management Engineering degree course therefore focuses on the objective of providing students with a solid basic preparation and broad technical application contents that favor their professional insertion in companies or areas of activity where technology and innovation represent the drivers for the creation of economic, social and environmental value.
1) Having acquired, in the scientific-disciplinary sectors indicated for the basic training activities for the Degree Class in Industrial Engineering, a minimum number of 36 CFU, acquired in any university course.
2) Having acquired, in the Scientific-Disciplinary Sectors characterizing for the Degree Class in Industrial Engineering, a minimum number of 30 CFU acquired in any university course. The Course of Study's Teaching Regulations will indicate the disciplinary sectors specifically required, indicating for each, or groups of them, the number of CFU required.
3) be able to use the English language fluently, in written and oral form, also with reference to disciplinary lexicons.
Access to the course is also permitted to holders of a Specialist Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering (pursuant to Ministerial Decree 509/1999 or Ministerial Decree 270/2004) or a Degree in Engineering obtained according to the system prior to Ministerial Decree 509/1999.
A special Commission will verify the adequacy of personal preparation by providing specific admission tests. The tests will also include a verification of knowledge of the English language; the test may be replaced by a certification of knowledge of the English language equivalent to level B2, or higher, of the CEF (Common European Network) or another equivalent qualification.
Non-native speaker students at the access stage must provide certification indicating that they possess adequate knowledge of the Italian language; in the absence of such certification, such knowledge will be verified during the access interview. In the event that the verification of the level of knowledge of the Italian language does not give a positive outcome, students must mandatorily include in their training courses, specific activities aimed at learning/improving their knowledge of the Italian language.

Problem solving and team working skills combined with interdisciplinary training allow the Management Engineer to tackle diversified problems concerning innovation, advanced design of production technologies, industrial plants and logistics systems, planning and management of complex projects and systems, interacting with colleagues with more specialized technical skills in the engineering field, but also with those with more advanced skills multidisciplinary.Sbocco
The professional opportunities for graduates of the Management Engineering class include large, small and medium-sized businesses, public administrations and freelance professionals. The sectors in which the Management Engineer finds the main employment opportunities are represented by:•industrial transformation manufacturing sectors,
•energy and plant engineering sectors,
•logistics and supply chain management sector
•knowledge intensive advanced services sector (telecommunications, IT, business consultancy etc.),
•all sectors of the Public Administration
•the research sector in public and private research institutes and centres and in universities.
In the local area, these sectors must be added to the Technological Districts such as: Dhitech (High Tech Technological District), Ditne (National Energy Technological District) and DTA (Aerospace Technological District).

The paper proposed for the final exam, characterized by originality, always refers to a significant experience that may concern:
- a project activity;
- an in-depth study of a basic or applied research topic;
- an experimental research activity, carried out in University laboratories or at external institutions.
